Cherry Hill to host 'Community Conversation' on diversity Sept. 26

(Cherry Hill, N.J.) – Cherry Hill Township and the Cherry Hill Human Relations Advisory Committee will host a Town Hall-style Community Conversation focused on diversity and human relations issues at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the Carman Tilelli Community Center, 820 Mercer St.

The event is free, and all are welcome to attend.

“In light of the complex human relations issues that have been in the headlines this year, we thought this was a good time to bring everyone together to start an open, but respectful dialogue about issues of concern in Cherry Hill,” said Mayor Cahn. “We hope to attract a variety of viewpoints, and want to share ideas on how we can strengthen understanding and acceptance across our diverse community.”

This will be the first opportunity for the public to meet and interact with members of the Township’s Human Relations Committee, which was formed in early 2017. The committee comprises about two dozen representatives from various cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds, as well as Township, School and Police Department officials, and its mission is to promote and celebrate Cherry Hill’s diverse character, while also working to identify areas of concern and provide solutions to unify the community.

Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to register for the event and submit questions or discussion topics in advance by e-mailing HumanRelations@chtownship.com.

For more information, please contact the Mayor’s Office at (856) 488-7878.
