Cherry Hill Police release traffic plans for Papal visit

In anticipation of significant traffic congestion near the Woodcrest PATCO station during the Papal visit, Cherry Hill Police will implement parking restrictions and amended traffic patterns in the area of the train station from Friday evening, Sept. 25, through Monday morning, Sept. 28.

These measures are intended to ensure the safety of motorists wand pedestrians traveling in the vicinity, as well as to protect residents and minimize the impact of this event on nearby residential neighborhoods and streets.

Parking restrictions will be in place on a number of residential streets. Click here to download a copy of the complete traffic plan, with maps and additional details.

Signs will be posted and parking will be limited to one side of the street on the following roads:
• 1st through 7th Avenues
• Bryant Road (A portion will be completely closed to traffic)
• Carolina Avenue
• Ellis Avenue
• Hoffman Avenue
• Hurff Avenue
• Kassner Avenue
• Longfellow Drive (Burnt Mill Road to Hillside Drive)
• North and South Bowling Green Drives
• Palmwood Avenue
• Philmar Avenue
• Walt Whitman Blvd (Burnt Mill Road to Hillside Drive)
• Woodfield Court

Parking will be prohibited on both sides of the street on:
• Railroad Blvd.
• York Road
• Lakeside Avenue
• Essex Avenue
• Atlantic Avenue

Police will be monitoring traffic on Routes 70 and 38 throughout the weekend and may implement additional traffic-control measures in those areas as conditions require. Please be sure to follow Cherry Hill Township and Cherry Hill Police on Facebook and Twitter to receive updated information as necessary.

Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we work to make this event as seamless as possible for all involved.
